All about business... Food Business...

HI all. Haven't did a post in a long time feels like. I been super busy with my new business and wanted to share some photos, ideas, and upcoming blogs. For those that don't know, I have a personal/private chef and cake business. Its called TheKeyIngredient, LLC, and it does a number of services. Everything from private chef events, to cakes, to menu planning. I been working on recipes, new items, and also wanted to do a launch party and tasting party. I will post the website below.

I'mTheKeyIngredient, LLC also working on new blogs for here and I have some great topics coming up. Also new recipes to post and working on a recipe cookbook as well. Also thinking of doing some live cooking classes with simple recipes and desserts. I'm excited for whats to come.

Chocolate Transfer...

So Saturday I went to the cake supply store looking for a new project to get into. I have a cake competition coming up in March, so practice makes perfect. I decided to try chocolate transfer for the first time, and it came out better than I thought. Just a simple technique of transferring the colored cocoa butter side to chocolate for a simple yet elegant design. I decided to put them on a chocolate dessert (next post) that was small yet needed some flare...



Here is how they came out...



No Bake Tiramisu Strawberry and Blackberry Cheescake

So here is a quick recipe I tried. Its a no bake cheesecake with fresh strawberries and blackberries. I have to say it turned out great... Must try recipe...

Crust

Ginger Snaps
Chopped almonds
Toffee bits
Melted butter

Filling

Heavy Whipping Cream
Mascarpone Cheese
Lady Finger cookies
Instant Coffee
Lime
Vanilla
Powdered sugar

Top

Strawberries
Blackberries




Directions:

Crush gingersnap cookies, add toffee, almonds... Then add melted butter to mix, and press down into cheesecake pan.

Whip the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, 3 Tbsp powdered sugar. Add mascarpone cheese by folding in. Add 1 cup powdered sugar by folding in at well, until blended.

Make instant coffee and dip lady fingers in it.

Take cheese mixture add layer on to the crust. Add lady fingers to that, and layer the rest of the cheese filling on the top.

Cut strawberries and add with black berries. Zest and juice lime, add a bit of powdered sugar and lay on top.

New Recipe: Brown Sugar Pound Cake

Hey there foodies... I found a recipe that I couldn't resist and decided to flip it and make it my own. The cake came out so moist, sweet, delectable, and delicious. The icing was made also adding some great cinnamon and caramel
sweetness as well. A definite must try.

Brown Sugar Pound Cake

1-1/2 cups Butter, softened
2 cups Light Brown Sugar, packed
1 cup granulated Sugar
1 Box of pound cake
5 eggs
1/2 cups Whole Milk
1-8oz bag Toffee Bits
4oz of Almonds
4oz Coconut

Carmel Cinnamon Drizzle

1- 14oz can Sweetned Condensed Milk
1 cup Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Butter
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
1 Tsp Cinnamon

Directions:

Cream butter and both sugars together.
Add pound cake mix a bit at a time until well incorporated.
Add 1 egg at a time and mix well.
Add milk and mix.
Add in toffee bits, almonds, and coconut.
Pour in a sprayed bundt pan in a 350 degree oven for about 60-75 mins.

Drizzle

Sauce pan on medium heat add condensed milk and brown sugar.
Bring to a boil, whisking consistently, lower the heat
Take off the stove and add cinnamon, butter and vanilla
